Safety and Efficacy in the Management of Dermatitis: Alternatives to Immunomodulators

Introduction

Atopic dermatitis in children has increased in prevalence over time. Accurate diagnosis is critical, and treating the disease appropriately will significantly improve the quality of life for both patients and parents.

Infectious Diseases in Children, with the support of Beiersdorf, Inc., the makers of Eucerin and Aquaphor, assembled a panel of experts in Atlanta, Georgia, on October 7, 2006, to discuss the epidemiology, treatment, and case management of atopic dermatitis in children.

I would like to thank the faculty members for their participation and Beiersdorf, Inc., for its support of this Infectious Diseases in Children symposium and monograph project.
